Alumni Association President Message

Dear Alumni of the Long Line of Grey,

As President of the Alumni Association Board of Directors (AABOD) which represents all alumni, it has been my charge and my pleasure to serve the school, cadets and the alumni by enhancing relationships between the alumni and the VFMA&C administration. We are making great progress but there is much work to be done and I continue to ask for your cooperation and support.Recently, I made the statement that a list of projects that alumni could support with their financial contribution would be forthcoming. The list has been condensed into four (4) major categories, as listed below. Within these categories I trust that you will find a specific area of interest that you wish to support. Otherwise, please consider the entire scope of the priorities below and contribute your funds to the fulfillment of the goals of that category.

  • Unrestricted support: gifts of this kind enable the institution to decide which areas of need are critical. This support is also used for daily operating expenses to include but not limited to the basic needs of the classroom, such as SmartBoards™ or laptops.
  • Financial aid and scholarships: these gifts directly affect the ability of the school to attract and retain cadets who would not normally be able to afford the cost of VFMA&C.
  • Facilities and building maintenance: at most institutions this is an ongoing priority and Valley Forge is no different. One of our major projects includes the renovation of the Shannon Hall walkway.
  • Support for science and technology: support is needed for the renovation of science labs which includes the need for additional equipment and supplies.

We are on the move and your prompt and immediate attention to the needs of our Alma Mater is appreciated in order to keep moving. Also, the Alumni Association supports a series of events including but not limited to: annual Stars dinners, Officers dining-in, TAC dinner, Graduation dinner and other cadet appreciation events. Your financial contribution and participation in these is welcome.

To partner with VFMA&C by making a donation please contact the Director of the Forge Fund, Holly Cheshire at 610-995-6008 or Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations, Denis Spizuoco at 610-989-1342.
