Dear Parents, Grandparents, Guardians and Sponsors:
On behalf of the new 2011-2012 Board of Directors of the Parents Association, of Valley Forge Military Academy, we bid you a hearty welcome!
We look forward to personally meeting new plebe parents and re-acquainting with returning parents in August and September. In-processing is an exciting day for plebes and returning cadets as they settle into their surroundings at Valley Forge. We will be at in-processing to provide support, answer questions, and help you out in any way we can.
Throughout the school year, the Parents Association will provide opportunities for you to meet other parents, learn more about the school and get involved in activities that support and enhance cadet life. Parents Recognition Weekend, September 30, October 1 and 2 begins with a Parents Cocktail Party for returning and new parents alike and includes an Oath Ceremony when all new plebes who have earned their Cap Shields are recognized as full cadets followed with a Chapel Service and their first Regimental Review Parade. This is a “must-attend” weekend and promises to be memorable for all who attend.
To provide you with necessary information on a weekly basis we ask that you:
- Check the VFMA&C website for the Parent Newsletter by going to www.vfmac.edu, then clicking on “Parents,” then “Parents Association,” then “Newsletter.” Important information is posted on Fridays when cadets are in residence.
- Attend Parents Association meetings and special events when possible.
- Fill out the Parents Data Form, sent with your son or daughter's reporting orders, and return it to Lini Stevens, Director of Parent Relations at the address below ASAP. Click here to access it online.
