Curriculum

To receive an associate degree, all students must complete a minimum of 60 credits with a grade point average of at least 2.0. In addition, students must satisfy the requirements outlined below:

**Only U.S. citizens or resident aliens may participate in military science and leadership instruction. International students for whom English is a second language and who score less than 550 on the Test of English as a  Foreign Language (TOEFL) may not take MS courses.

Building on the common curriculum above, students must complete the following courses related to the requirements for an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science degree. Selection of the degree program will be made in coordination with an academic advisor during an initial placement. To be eligible to enter the Associate of Science program, students must be able to begin their mathematics sequence at MA 103 (Pre-Calculus).

Students must select one of two degree options:

ASSOCIATE OF ARTS DEGREE

Six credits in mathematics above MA 100 6 credits
Six credits in one foreign language* 6 credits
Science course with laboratory 4 credits

*Not required by students for whom English is a second language and scored 550 or higher on the TOEFL See the Office of the Dean for details.

ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE DEGREE

CH 103 4 credits

MA 104 4 credits

Requirements for Degree Program
In addition to the requirements outlined above, students must complete one of eight academic fields of study, or a designated General Studies program. Students electing to pursue an Associate of Arts Degree must select a field of study in Liberal Arts (Government/History or Language/Culture tracks), Business, Criminal Justice, Leadership Studies or General Studies. Students electing to pursue an Associate of Science Degree must choose a field of study in Pre-Engineering, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences or General Studies. The requirements are illustrated below and on the next page.
