Why Give?
Every Gift Counts!
Valley Forge Military Academy & College aspires to greatness,
educating cadets who will have a profound impact on society and the world.
An ongoing plan led by President Charles A. McGeorge continues to
identify the priorities that demand our attention and for which we must
attract private financial support if we are to continue to excel.
VFMA&C truly appreciates gifts of all sizes. We ask only for each alumnus
to give in a way that is appropriate to his or her circumstances. Please
know that every gift—from $5 to $5 million—accomplishes enormous good
here on campus.

gift can be used to support the many important initiatives at VFMA&C:

Investing in the Five Cornerstones
Investing in Cadets
Our reputation and future rest on our ability to attract and retain
outstanding cadets. A VFMA&C education is rich in possibilities and
provides essential intellectual and ethical benefits. In the 2007-2008
academic year, Valley Forge is continuing to top grade its faculty and
staff, emphasizing the fine arts, and intensely focusing on cadet recruitment
and retention.
This, in turn, will lead to small class sizes that are taught by top
grade instructors, a staff committed to the success of all cadets, and
presenting more culturally broadening opportunities for our cadets.
Investing in Faculty
We must attract the very best faculty members to our ranks. Our
instructors arrive on campus with a deep devotion to teaching our cadets.
They are also mentors, coaches, and guides, working with students individually
in small classes. In turn, cadets look to faculty for guidance – not only
in academics, but on matters affecting the rest of their lives.
Still, we face increasing challenges in retaining outstanding
instructors, many of whom weigh offers from other elite institutions.
To ensure competitiveness in the academic marketplace and to appeal to
top faculty, we must invest more aggressively in faculty and meet the
challenge of intense competition in recruiting and retaining talent.
Investing in Athletics
Because we are committed to developing the whole student, Valley Forge
expects all College cadets to participate in athletics at the intercollegiate,
club, or intramural level. Regardless of how you get involved, you'll find
athletics are a great way to channel your physical energy, stay fit, and
learn valuable qualities associated with participation - including teamwork,
motivation, and good sportsmanship.
As part of VFMA&C’s commitment to the physical and social development
of our students, there are fundraising initiatives underway that will help
to provide the resources, both programmatic and physical, that will help our
student-athletes make the most of their campus life.
Investing in the Five Cornerstones
VFMA&C’s financial contributors directly support the Five Cornerstones.
Valley Forge will produce educated leaders for our global community,
developing the whole person, by continuing to rely on the five cornerstones
upon which Valley Forge Military Academy & College has built its international
reputation. Contributors know that by making a gift, large or small, they
are supporting our number one objective, our cadets.
The Five Cornerstones include:
Academic Excellence - Valley Forge
seeks to educate and develop our cadets for college entrance or transfer to
a four-year college, career success and responsible citizenship. A challenging
curriculum, dedicated faculty, small classes, individual attention and
faculty-supervised evening study hall provide an environment conducive to
attaining academic success. The acquiring of knowledge, the development of
skills and the shaping of attitudes are emphasized to enable cadets to excel
academically and to inspire them to pursue education throughout life.
Character Development - Valley
Forge emphasizes time-proven standards of conduct, ethical behavior, integrity,
spiritual values, and service to community and country. This program enables
cadets to adapt and contribute to society without sacrificing those values that
develop strength of character, lead to honorable success and foster love of country.
Personal Motivation - The objective
is to motivate each cadet to strive for excellence, both individually and as
members of an organization, in all areas of endeavor. Motivation is encouraged
through positive competition, recognition, loyalty, teamwork, organizational
pride and the establishment of personal goals.
Physical Development - Valley
Forge strives to improve the health, self-confidence and physical abilities
of every cadet through an integrated program of physical education and
athletic competition. By focusing on a healthy lifestyle, good physical
conditioning and competitive athletic skills, the institution fosters the
development of those attitudes, habits and abilities that lead to lifelong
physical well-being.
Leadership - Valley Forge
seeks to prepare its graduates to become educated citizen leaders committed
to fundamental democratic ideals in an increasingly diverse and interdependent
global society. Employing the dynamics of a military organization in its
structured cadet environment, the Forge experience is designed to foster
the development of individual responsibility and sound leadership skills
by providing opportunities for the practical application of leadership
theories in positions of increasing responsibility.
