College Athletics
Because we are committed to developing the whole student, Valley Forge expects
all College cadets to participate in athletics at the intercollegiate, club,
or intramural level. Regardless of how you get involved, you'll find athletics
are a great way to channel your physical energy, stay fit, and learn valuable
qualities associated with participation - including teamwork, motivation, and
good sportsmanship.
Strong Tradition
Valley Forge boasts a strong athletic tradition, including championship
programs in a number of sports, unique offerings in equestrian-polo and show
jumping, and impressive alumni. In only six years, Valley Forge has placed 35
players on national-level teams in basketball and football.
We offer athletic scholarships and encourage cadet participation at all
levels of our athletic programs - from football to fencing, scuba to Ski Club,
and tennis to touch football.
Athletic Facilities
Completed in 2000, Trainer Hall features outstanding athletic facilities for
all Valley Forge cadets, including an expansive weight training area and the
latest in workout equipment.
Valley Forge cadets enjoy impressive athletic resources: Price Athletic
Center and Trainer Hall house three full-size and six intermediate-size
basketball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped
weight room, meeting rooms, and the L. Maitland Blank Hall of Fame. Also
on campus are nine outdoor tennis courts, an all-weather track, an indoor
polo pavilion, stables, an indoor rifle range, and six athletic fields for
baseball, football, lacrosse and soccer.
Outdoor Recreation
Outdoor recreation is on the agenda for many Valley Forge students. You'll
appreciate the variety of outdoor activities that are available right in
our own backyard. The College organizes horseback riding outings to Valley
Forge National Historical Park, ski trips to the Pocono Mountains, and more!
