The College Experience

Fostering Personal Growth Since 1935

Valley Forge Military College is a private, co-educational, residential college that offers the freshman and sophomore years of college. The primary mission of  VFMC is to prepare students for transfer to competitive four-year colleges and universities.

VFMC has a long tradition of fostering personal growth through a unique, comprehensive system built on Five Cornerstones: Academic Excellence, Character Development, Personal Motivation, Physical Development, and Leadership.

The diverse student body represents more than 31 states and 27 countries. VFMC has an excellent transfer record:  95 percent of cadets are accepted to their first or second choice schools. More than 63 percent were admitted to the top-tier schools in the country.

Although we are a military school, the end result is not necessarily to pursue a career in the military– though nearly 40% of our graduates will choose this path. The VFMC “military model” is, at its core, a structured way to teach students life skills that will propel them ahead of their peers.

Early Commissioning Program:  Unique to VFMC

Valley Forge Military College is the only college in the northeastern United States that offers qualified freshmen the opportunity to participate in an Early Commissioning Program, leading to a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army Reserves or Army National Guard at the end of their sophomore year. The U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy have all sponsored cadets through their Foundation Scholarship Programs and other programs established for young people to attend VFMC.
