Fostering Personal Growth Since 1935

A private, co-educational, residential college that offers the freshman and sophomore years of college.

The Military College of Pennsylvania™

VFMC has a long tradition of fostering personal growth through a unique, comprehensive system built on Five Cornerstones: Academic Excellence, Personal Motivation, Character Development, Physical Development, and Leadership.

Whether your ambitions are rooted in our rich military traditions or shaped by your scholarly endeavors, we invite you to explore all that we have to offer. We offer three paths toward earning your degree: as a member of the Corps of Cadets, as a Commuter Student, or through the Early Commissioning Program via ROTC.

Although we are a military school, the end result is not necessarily to pursue a career in the military – though nearly 40% of our graduates will choose this path. The VFMC “military model” is, at its core, a structured way to teach students life skills that will propel them ahead of their peers.

5th Annual 1LT Joseph Theinert Memorial 5K Run/Walk @ Wayne | Pennsylvania | United States

Join us for our 5th Annual 1LT Joseph Theinert Memorial 5K Run/Walk. This race serves as a constant reminder of his heroism and bravery in providing opportunities for future cadets. In 2010, Joseph Theinert a Valley Forge Military College graduate, ’06C, TAPS was killed in the line of duty while serving our nation in Afghanistan. Finding his platoon under hostile fire, 1LT Theinert was killed while disarming an IED, saving the lives of 20 soldiers under his command. In memory of 1LT Theinert, a fallen hero, a scholarship fund was established in his name to benefit Valley Forge Military College cadets planning to serve in the military. All proceeds from our event will support the 1LT Joseph Theinert scholarship fund.

This is a community event that is family-friendly and supported by neighbors and local businesses. Runners will be chipped timed through the course that traverses the neighborhoods of Wayne. We hope you will come out and walk or run with us to support our efforts and mission to honor our fallen heroes while raising funds to support our future heroes.

Valley Forge Military College Mission Statement (2010)

The mission of Valley Forge Military College is to educate students within an academic and military environment to transfer to academically competitive four-year colleges, universities, or service academies. The College builds leaders of character – for the future, for the community, for the country, for the world.

Military Model

Providing Structure and Discipline: A Model For Learning And For Life

The VFMC “military model” is, at its core, a structured and disciplined way of carrying out the education and development of students. Our students learn to manage their academics, leadership responsibilities, personal motivation, physical development, and learn character traits through the understanding that life is a constant balancing act, and the military model helps them to prioritize appropriately. It helps teach our students to manage their time, think critically, balance their responsibilities, and develop life skills that will propel them ahead of their peers.

Our Success Stories—Hear what Parents and Students say about their Valley Forge Experience.

As the parent of a recently graduated 5 year Cadet, Niall Gallagher, Class of 2015, I would honestly say he would not be a Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy, Class of 2019, without the life lessons learned at VFMAC. Valley Forge gave him the tools to achieve his own individual success. He was able to play in the Regimental Band all over the country and even England, was able to excel at athletics, study abroad at the Duke of York Royal Military School, rise to the rank of Battalion Commander and get elected to Student Council President during his years at VF.

My son always tells me, Valley Forge didn’t hand him success, but gave him the tools and self-confidence to achieve it.

Thank you Valley Forge for making him into the student leader, thoughtful and compassionate person and future Marine Corps Officer he is today.

Father of Cadet Niall Gallagher ’15

While at Valley Forge, the training and the Cadre were second to none. Although a small community, the one at Valley Forge is tight knit and the comrades you make while there will be your ‘Battles’ for life. I am currently down at Fort Benning, GA attending IBOLC with two good friends of mine whom I commissioned with two and a half years ago (LT. Sexton and LT. FRY). I would highly recommend Valley Forge to anyone who were looking to get a leg in the door towards a great career.

Graduated VFMAC in May of 09′ with a Commission in the Ohio Army National Guard.
