Cadet Achievement
Valley Forge Military Academy and College regularly acknowledges
and awards the achievements of the individuals who comprise the
Corps of Cadets. These awards are given for achievement in academics
and leadership to those who exemplify the spirit of the Corps.

Appointments of Cadet Officers and Noncommissioned
Officers in the Corps of Cadets, Valley Forge Military Academy
and College.
Cadet Promotions
The Cadet Chain of Command, Commandant's
Department and individual listed will ensure they fully understand
the duties and responsibilities of this rank and position and
discharge same in accordance with VFMA&C Corps of Cadets policies
and procedures and the "Guidon."
Cadet of the Month
These cadets are authorized to wear
a gold fourragere on the left shoulder of their Uniform
(except BDUs) during the month of honor. Additionally, they
are authorized a weekend leave with Tactical Officer approval.
Academy Class Officers
Dean's Scholars
Cadets are recognized as Dean's Scholars by
having earned a grade point average of 88 or higher for
academic year.
Star List (Honor Roll)
Cadets having maintained academic
averages for the Academic Year within the range of marks
specified for star rating in recognition of individual scholarship,
are entitled to all honors and privileges accorded to each
cadet as outlined in The Guidon for the Corps of Cadets.
- GOLD STARS: (DISTINGUISHED) Gold star cadets are authorized to wear Gold Stars during the first marking period, for the current academic year. They are designated "Distinguished" students.
- SILVER STARS: (SUPERIOR) Silver star cadets are authorized to wear Silver Stars during the first marking period, for the current academic year. They are designated "Superior" students.
- RED STARS: (MERITORIOUS) Red star cadets are authorized to wear Red Stars during the first marking period, for the current academic year. They are designated "Meritorious" students.
Honor Council
These cadets, appointed by the President,
are entrusted with the administration of the Cadet Honor
Council.
Class Officers
Elected by their peers, these cadets are
encouraged to serve their class with distinction.
The Colonel Merrow E. Sorley Academic Medals:
Presented annually
to those cadets of the Freshman and Sophomore Classes of the
College with satisfactory academic and tactical records who have
achieved distinction in each of the following areas: Foreign Language,
Science, Business Administration, Social Science, Criminal Justice,
Mathematics and English. Established in memory of Colonel
Merrow F. Sorley, Assistant Professor of Physical Science.
The Major General Anthony Wayne Medal:
Presented annually in
memory of Brigadier General Arthur W. Bass, Faculty, to cadets
of the College Freshman Class, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and
Sixth Classes who have attained the highest individual academic
rating in their respective class during the previous academic
year, and who, in addition, have demonstrated a high degree of
esprit de corps and overall tactical efficiency
