Many ways to experience the forge
The vast majority of Valley Forge Military Academy cadets are full-time boarders who hail from all over the country and the world. However, we also offer the option to board five days a week or attend as a day student to families who live locally.
Watch this brief overview video to learn how your son can make his academic future a reality while learning skills he’ll use the rest his live.
Full Time Boarding
Classes are held five days a week with athletics and other after-school activities held until 5:45 pm. Evening study hours extend from 7:30 to 9:30. Taps sounds at 10:00 pm.
On the weekends, cadets enjoy ample opportunities to take advantage of the Philadelphia area’s varied cultural and entertainment possibilities. In addition, those who stay on the weekend’s will have the opportunity to participate in trips and activities prepared by the Student Activities Department. One or two Sunday’s a month, cadets attend a Chapel Service on campus.
Local families can also choose the 5-day boarder option – with cadets free to return home after last duty on Friday and return to campus on Sunday evening for study hall or Monday morning before classes. Monday through Friday, 5-day boarding cadets follow the same schedule and have the same obligations as traditional boarding cadets.
Our Day School is a chance for parents to witness it every night. Cadets enrolled in the Day School Program are offered the same opportunities that our boarding cadets have – exceptional academics, dedicated faculty interaction, interscholastic sports, extracurricular activities, and camaraderie.
The Day Program is a great way to experience the academic structure and discipline in the classroom, and develop the leadership skills needed to be successful in life – all the things that make Valley Forge Military Academy so special, but without residing on campus.
