Making the Academy Affordable
A Valley Forge Military Academy education is an investment in your child’s future.
A quality education is a significant financial commitment. This investment can be made affordable by combining your current assets and resources with loan options, merit scholarships, or need-based aid. Valley Forge Military Academy will utilize available resources and offer assistance to those families with demonstrated need. Last year, we awarded more than $4,000,000 in merit and need-based aid.
The following steps will help you determine your best tuition payment options. We suggest you begin this process as soon as you apply for your child’s admission into the Academy.
Identifying Tuition Options:
1. Deciding How Much Tuition You Can Afford to Pay
If you can pay tuition in full without financing, simply reference the Tuition and Fees portion of our website. If you need help meeting the full cost of tuition, the next step is to obtain pre-approval for a student loan.
2. Applying for Student Loan Pre-approval
VFMA works with several education lenders that offer a range of options for loan terms, interest rates, and payment plans. To compare your options, visit the following websites by clicking on the below icons, then apply for pre-approval from the lender of your choice.
3. Applying for Need-Based Tuition Assistance
If your pre-approved loan amount does not cover the full cost of tuition, you may be eligible for need-based assistance. We utilize School and Student Services (SSS) by NAIS to determine financial need. To apply for a need-based tuition assistance, complete a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). School & Student Services by NAIS will send your application results directly to VFMA. Once we have received this information and the student has been accepted for enrollment, we will notify you about available aid. The offer will be based on your demonstrated need, the school’s financial aid policies, and the available budget.
We also recommend that you review the wide range of materials that SSS has put together to help families with the financial aid process. Applications are available online at: http://sss.nais.org/parents/ SSS Code: 900044
