VFMAC congratulates ’96 Academy and ’98 College alum WESTLEY WATENDE MOORE who has been elected Governor to the State of Maryland.
Governor-elect Moore acknowledges his VFMAC education as a foundation for his success.
Like many Cadets, he was reluctant to attend but soon embraced the Five Cornerstones on which education here is based: Academic Excellence, Physical Development, Personal Motivation, Character Development, and Leadership.
Mr. Moore went on to become class president and Regimental Commander of the entire Corps
of Cadets. After graduating from the Academy, he attended VFMC through the
College’s Early Commissioning Program, At his graduation, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the U.S. Army, went on to Johns Hopkins University, and became a Rhodes Scholar.
Since then, he has had an extraordinary career of service, demonstrating the very leadership skills instilled in all VFMAC Cadets. Now poised to govern the State of Maryland, he is another of a long list of grads of whom VFMAC can be very proud. Well-done, Cadet Moore, well-done!
