POSITION TITLE:  Administrative Assistant

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary responsibility is to prepare, track and maintain the Academy application process and to fulfill other administrative duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Retrieve application through email (once filled out by applicant, sent directly to my inbox) or mail
    • Enter all information from application into CAMS database.
    • Fax request for transcript and SAT/ACT scores from applicant’s high school
    • When transcript is received obtain file and mark GPA, RANK, SAT.ACT scores in file as well as in CAMS database.
    • Forward information to the counselor, who will review the applicant for acceptance, conditionally accepted or rejected.
    • Change CAMS to “prospect” to “students” or if rejected applicant stays as a “prospect” with “rejected” as the applicant’s status.
    • Distribute copies of the application to the right personnel
    • Send documents to parents regarding medicine, past school records, etc.
    • Answer telephones, assist callers with needed information or transfer to other departments.
    • Schedule appointments for potential applicants who wish to have an interview/tour with an Admissions Counselor.
    • Assist the Director of Financial Aid
        

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree desired.
    • Minimum of two-(2) years’ administrative experience.
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.

POSITION TITLE:  TAC (Teach, Advise, and Counsel) Officer

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The TAC (Teach, Advise, and Counsel) Officer is responsible and accountable for the daily operations, training, discipline, leadership development, management and overall supervision of the cadets assigned to their unit. Is the primary point of contact for all actions associated with the cadets of their unit and are the primary counselor and role model to their cadets in shaping ethically mind citizen leaders of character. They are expected to develop both team and personal relationships with Cadets, built on trust and mutual respect and teach life skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Leader: The TAC Officer is a leader in their assigned units and is responsible for what the entire unit does or fails to do.
    • Counselor: Responsible for providing both performance counseling and developmental counseling to assist cadets in becoming better leaders of themselves and other members of the corps as needed but not less than monthly.
    • Trainer: The TAC Officer will be knowledgeable of all phases of drill and capable of instructing School of the Soldier, Manual of Arms, Saber and Sword Manual and Physi­cal Training
    • Disciplinarian: The TAC Officer maintains good order and discipline by administering corrective action, on-the-spot correction, leadership teaching, and upholding of standards.
    • Administrator: The TAC Officer is responsible for ensuring their unit meets all the administrative and operational daily inspections of their unit area to check for cleanliness, energy conservation, and those inspection standards have been met.
        

QUALIFICATIONS:

Prefer a Senior Level Rank Officer or Warrant Officer with a Bachelor’s Degree, in Social Sciences, i.e. Education, Counseling, or Social Work.

Previous experience working with students and/or background experience as a counselor within a residential/boarding school environment.

POSITION TITLE:  Physical Education Teacher

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Physical Education Teacher to join our team! You will educate students in one or more subjects at the secondary level in a military model environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manage and educate students Monday through Thursday (6:30am to 8:30am)
    • Plan a balanced Physical Education program that is engaging, challenging, and well-rounded to improve the physical development of the cadets at VFMA
    • Adhere to established teaching curriculum
    • Maintain positive relationships with students and parents
    • Document and share student grades and evaluations
    • Maintain the health and safety of all students
        

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree with PA Teaching Certificate preferred
    • Candidate would have a minimum of three years teaching physical education to middle or high school age students

POSITION TITLE:  Mechanic/Driver

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

Establish a classroom environment conducive to learning, provide appropriate learning activities, establish positive relationships with parents and staff members. Instructing middle school cadets in basic car maintenance and repair. As part of the militarily structured system, promote the establishment and maintenance of high standards of cadet decorum and discipline. Working morning hours 7a to noon. Will transport students to various functions and appointments.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accomplish a full range of vehicle repair and maintenance tasks on the institutional fleet, to include school buses, vans, sedans, trucks, go-carts, motorcycles, and maintenance/shop vehicles. Fleet is a mixture of gasoline and diesel powered.
    • Perform small engine repair and maintenance tasks on miscellaneous items of equipment.
    • Assist in establishing and then execute a preventive maintenance program that involves scheduling of services and correction of deficiencies on all vehicles and equipment.
    • To transport students to and from school and other sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the student passengers while in a school vehicle. 
        

QUALIFCATIONS:

    • A vocational or postsecondary award in automotive service technology with coursework in basic math, computers, electronics, car repair and customer service, preferred.
    • Must have a valid Class C non-commercial driver’s license.
    • Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years
    • Two or more years of experience working with middle school children preferred

A skilled Painter is needed to paint the interior and exterior of structures, buildings and other surfaces. Needs experience in painting with various tools, in various heights and spaces while observing all safety measures. Must be reliable and deft as well as possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.

POSITION TITLE:  Digital Engagement Specialist

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Digital Engagement Specialist is part of the Marketing & Communications department and will develop sustained and strategic institutional social media marketing initiatives across a variety of platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION TITLE:  Bus Driver

RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Transport VFMAC cadets, staff and faculty, in a safe and courteous manner to sporting events, class trips and other appointments.
    • Inspect bus/vehicle before each trip.
    • Dispose of trash and sweep vehicle at the end of each trip.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma required.
    • Minimum of three years driving experience.
    • CDL B license with Passenger & School Bus endorsements. Clean driving record is a must.
    • Physical: Must be able to physically operate a school bus and pass a substance abuse test.

POSITION TITLE:  Campus Security Officer (CSO)

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a Campus Security Officer to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises as well as identify risks to staff and patrons.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
    • Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
    • Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
    • Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
    • Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
    • Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations

QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields
    • Familiarity with security equipment
