Fostering Personal Growth Since 1935

A private, co-educational, residential college that offers the freshman and sophomore years of college.

The Military College of Pennsylvania™

VFMC has a long tradition of fostering personal growth through a unique, comprehensive system built on Five Cornerstones: Academic Excellence, Character Development, Personal Motivation, Physical Development, and Leadership.

Whether your ambitions are rooted in our rich military traditions or shaped by your scholarly endeavors, we invite you to explore all that we have to offer. We offer three paths toward earning your degree: as a member of the Corps of Cadets, as a Commuter Student, or through the Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program.

Although we are a military school, the end result is not necessarily to pursue a career in the military – though nearly 40% of our graduates will choose this path. The VFMC “military model” is, at its core, a structured way to teach students life skills that will propel them ahead of their peers.

Valley Forge Military College Articulation Agreements
Annual FERPA Notification

VFMC is the only college in Pennsylvania that is designated as a NSA/DHS CAE2Y in Cyber Defense. This distinction identifies VFMC as a leader in cybersecurity education and makes our graduates equally coveted by transfer schools and businesses. Cybersecurity Certificate graduates will carry the NSA/DHS CAE2Y designation on their transcripts. In their junior and senior years of high school, Academy students can enroll in the College’s Cybersecurity Certificate, and complete it before they graduate, differentiating them from their peers at other private schools.

Valley Forge Military College is accredited through the Middle State Commission on Higher Education. VFMC has been a member since 1954 and our status was last reaffirmed June 28, 2012.

Cadet Training

The Ideal Vehicle For Developing Leadership And Management Skills

When students enter Valley Forge Military College, they must accept the values and standards of “The Forge” as their own if they are to succeed. For the Corps of Cadets these values and standards are reflected in three basic declarations: the Mission Statement, the Cadet Resolution and the Honor Code. The companies live together, eat meals together in the Regimental Mess, and wear the unique uniform that identifies them as Valley Forge Military College cadets.

Cadet training teaches students to think clearly, to keep their minds alert and active, and to form habits of neatness and correctness. It prepares them for greater responsibilities by teaching respect and obedience to authority and by developing habits of self-discipline.

Corps Structure

How The Corps is Structured

All members of the Corps of Cadets are organized into separate companies — solely Academy Companies; solely College Companies; and Specialty Companies comprised of both Academy and College cadets. Each company is commanded by a Cadet Company Commander and assisted by a Cadet First Sergeant.
