VFMAC Regimental Band to Perform in Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo
We are thrilled to share some exciting news – the VFMAC Regimental Band will be appearing this summer at The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo at the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
First held in 1979, The Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo is a week-long event that brings together hundreds of marching bands, musicians, acrobats and dancers for a one-of-a-kind military showcase. In 2006, the event was granted Royal Status by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who is an official patron of the Tattoo, and it enjoys status as the world’s largest annual indoor show.
Under the direction of Bandmaster Vince DeMarro, the VFMAC Regimental Band will join select bands and performers from around the world, including the United States Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team, the German Air Force Band Erfurt and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes & Drums. Mr. DeMarro also has the honor of conducting the U.S. national anthem.
This year’s show is “The Power of Peace,” and will celebrate humanitarians, the resolution of conflict, and the bonds of friendship between the countries who have participated in the Tattoo over the last 40 years.
We’ve always known just how talented our Regimental Band members are, but now we are delighted that they will have the chance to show their skills in front of an international audience during the Tattoo, which runs June 29-July 6 this summer. The performance will be televised in the United States, and we will share air time and channel information as soon as it becomes available.
