On March 30, 2017, Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) celebrated its first decade of empowering women in the College by hosting its Inaugural Women’s Leadership Symposium. More than 150 attendees were present for the event.
The morning event featured Brigadier General (Ret.) Carol Eggert, senior vice president of military and veteran affairs at Comcast, and VADM Sandra Stosz, USCG, deputy commandant for mission support for the U.S. Coast Guard, as the keynote speakers. The day was complete with round table discussions led by women executive leaders and networking.
“Valley Forge Military College is dedicated to supporting and promoting the continued education of talented and accomplished female leaders,” noted Maureen Malone, Dean of VFMC. “We promote advancement of females through women’s scholarships and awards, leadership development, and educational enhancement opportunities targeted specifically to them. Our strategic goal is to increase our population of women to 25% in the next three years”
This year marks the 10th anniversary of women in our Corps of Cadets at Valley Forge Military College. The event proceeds will benefit a mentor program that will provide students an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain insight into their future career paths, and build leadership and character skills.
