VFMC Hosts Third Annual Women’s Leadership Symposium

Valley Forge Military College (VFMC) recently celebrated more than 10 years of enrolling and empowering women in the College by hosting its third annual Women’s Leadership Symposium. Area students and local business woman were in attendance for the event.

The event’s keynote speaker was Kirsten Bay, CEO of Cysurance. For the last six years, Kirsten has served as the CEO of big data and cyber security companies, leading the strategy and development of the next generation analytics and attack detection technologies with a focus on integrating business mission ad cyber risk management.

After a breakfast program with Bay, attendees participated in roundtable discussions led by women executive leaders and networking.

“Valley Forge Military College strives to cultivate and inspire future female leaders through events and opportunities such as our Women’s Leadership Symposium,” said Maureen Malone, Dean of VFMC. “The Women’s Leadership Symposium has provided VFMC the ability to establish a Women’s Leadership Society that provides our female cadets with opportunities in mentoring, community service, leadership development, and educational enhancement opportunities.”

This year marks the 12th year women have been able to enroll in the Corps of Cadets at VFMC. Proceeds from the Women’s Leadership Symposium will benefit the Women’s Leadership Society, which provides our female students an opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain insight into their future career paths and build leadership and character skills.
